| alright man, i worked for 1 year in 2 car audio shops, and i pretty much learned that there is this underground brand called Image Dynamics that has the BEST QUALITY clean bass in their subs. if ur looking for a QUALITY bass in which u can actually hear the melody in it, then these subs are for u man (the Image Dynamics IDMAX series is the best they produce) cus they go to really low frequencies unlike Kicker and JL which have become mainstream brands that are more about excessive SPL (sound pressure level aka loud ass vibrations that will blow ur ears quickly and make everything in ur car rattle) than SQL (sound quality level)... I'd go with two 10" subs with an individual mono channel amp per sub and a capacitor just in case u wanna listen when the engine isnt running. hope this helps u out man! :D
